Ingredients
Scale
- 2 lbs chicken wings, separated into drumettes and flats
- 1/2 cup cayenne hot sauce (e.g., Frank’s RedHot)
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tbsp white vinegar
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Optional: celery sticks and blue cheese dressing for serving
Instructions
- Prepare the Wings:
- Pat the chicken wings dry with paper towels. Season them with salt and pepper.
- Fry the Wings:
- Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 375°F (190°C). Fry the wings in batches for 10–12 minutes until golden brown and crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels.
- Make the Sauce:
- In a small saucepan, combine hot sauce, melted butter, vinegar, and garlic powder. Stir over low heat until smooth.
- Coat the Wings:
- Toss the fried wings in the prepared sauce until evenly coated.
- Serve:
- Arrange the wings on a platter with celery sticks and blue cheese dressing on the side. Serve immediately.
Notes
- For a healthier option, bake the wings at 400°F (200°C) for 40–45 minutes, flipping halfway through.
- Adjust the sauce’s heat level by adding more or less cayenne hot sauce.
- Leftovers can be reheated in the oven at 375°F (190°C) to retain crispiness.
